This Privacy Policy explains how PenAStory (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile and web applications (the “Service”).
We collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, and profile details when you create an account; content you submit in reviews, forums, and clubs; and your reading activity, library, wishlist, and preferences. We also collect limited technical data (such as device type and app version) needed to operate and secure the Service. Payment information is processed by our payment providers (Razorpay and, for in-app purchases, Apple) and is not stored on our servers.
We use your information to provide and personalise the Service, process purchases and subscriptions, sync your library across devices, enable community features, send service-related and (where you have opted in) promotional notifications, and to keep the Service safe and reliable.
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with service providers who process it on our behalf (such as hosting, analytics, payment, and notification providers), and where required by law. Profile details you choose to make public (such as your display name in forums) are visible to other users.
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations. We apply technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit and row-level access controls, to protect your data.
You can access and update your profile in the app at any time. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights over your personal data under applicable law.
The Service is not directed to children below the age of digital consent in their country, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
We may update this policy from time to time; material changes will be communicated through the Service. For privacy questions or data requests, contact privacy@penastory.com.
